艺术家简历 ARTIST BIOGRAPHIES

Kang’s work builds on the Jimo (accumulatingink) technique of traditional Chinese landscape
painting, creating an atmosphere of tranquility, unfamiliarity andmystery. Alongside his
‘night scenes’ series, Kangcontinues to explore more formal abstraction. His abstractworks
start from a blank space – the void. His process isalmost meditative, a sort of antithetical
response to theintensity of his ‘night scenes’ work, yet he does notconsider these works to
come from any psychological(conscious or unconscious) experience. Kang’s abstractworks
are created through a continuous affirmative andnegative process, intuition and spirituality,
absence andpresence.Kang Haitao's work has been exhibited in Hong Kong, theUnited States,
