His works include earth art, installations of natural and industrial materials, field-specific three-
dimensional human sculpture, and plane creation exploring painting media. In 1970, Sekine Nobuo
represented Japan in the 35th Venice Biennale with the empty phase series, and then successively
participated in the biennales held in France, Japan and South Korea. In 2001, the Tate Museum
of Modern Art organized his works into the exhibition Century City to praise Sekine Nobuo's
contribution to Japanese modern art. Important exhibition: 2013 Parallel Perspectives: Italian and
Japanese art in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, the Warehouse, Dallas, USA; 2012 Tokyo 1955-1970:
new avant-garde, Museum of Modern Art, New York, United States; 2005 Reflection on the school
of things, Osaka National International Art Museum, Osaka, Japan. His works are collected by
many public institutions, including the former Art Museum of Tokyo, the Art Museum of Ota City,
the Sichuan Vietnam Municipal Art Museum, the Osaka National International Art Museum, the
National Modern Art Museum of Guochuan City, Korea, the Louisiana Museum of modern art in
Denmark, the Keller Bilbao Museum in the Netherlands, and Henie Onstad kunstcenter in Norway.

Born in Tokyo in 1940, Araki studied photography during his college years. He has published
over 350 books since his debut and still more every year. Araki is considered one of the most
prolific artists in Japan and around the world. Many of his photographs are erotic; some have
been called pornographic. Some of his most popular publications include albums entitled:
Sentimental Journey, Tokyo Lucky Hole and Shino. His works are held in numerous museum
collections including the Tate and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

180 Ouyang Chun was born in 1974 in Beijing, and graduated from the Department of Art Education
of Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts. Recent solo exhibitions include Road to Heaven, Building
B06, 798 Art District, Beijing, China (2023); Weird and Wonderful, Museum Folkwang, Essen,
Germany (2016); Painting the King, Belvedere-Upper Belvedere& Augarten Contemporary,
Vienna, Austria (2011). Recent group exhibitions include I Loved You, White Rabbit Gallery,
Sydney, Australia (2022); A Higher Calling, and WHITE SPACE, Beijing, China (2021). Ouyang
Chun currently lives and works in Beijing, China. Deploying a variety of painterly techniques,
