                                       Born in Anhui, China in 1981, Xia Yu graduated from the Third Studio of the Oil Painting
                                       Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2004. He currently works and lives in
                                       Beijing. Xia Yu's Tempera creation techniques coexist with the exploration of form. Those
                                       memories of parental love, deep brother-sister affection, intimacy and youthful sorrow have
                                       gradually transformed into an illustrated guide to urban life in the current tense in recent
                                       years, enriching The familiar life scenes that make people feel full of immersion. The people in
                                       the painting are constantly wandering between home and company, city and nature, seamlessly
                                       connecting between housework and work, daze and entertainment, switching between different
                                       identities and roles in the transition of living space. Modern people seem to have a variety of
                                       choices, but it seems that it is no longer possible to have the refuge and spiritual privacy of the
                                       ancients. Life has never become so rich and limited, standard and tiring. Major solo exhibitions:

             徐坦(b.1957)                1957年生于武汉,于1989年获广州美术学院硕士学位。1993年加入广州大尾象工作小组。现工作并生活于
                                       珠海。

                                       Born in 1957 in Wuhan, Hubei Province, Xu Tan studied fine arts at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine
                                       Arts where he received a master’s degree in 1989. In the early 1990s, he joined the Guangzhou-
                                       based artist collective Big Tail Elephant Group. He currently lives in Zhuhai.
                                       Xu Tan’s recent solo exhibitions include San Francisco Chinatown Keywords School, 41 Ross Alley,
                                       San Francisco, 2014; Xu Tan: Question, Soil and Socio-Botanic, Vitamin Creative Space, Guangzhou,
                                       2013; Possible Vocabulary Games: Xu Tan Language Workshop, OCAT, Shenzhen, 2011.
                                       Xu Tan has participated in numerous international exhibitions and biennials, including: The
