1987. In 2017, he was awarded the Best of the Best Robb Report Art Achievement Award, and in 2013, he
was awarded the Martell Artists of the Year Award. Since the 1990s, Wang Jianwei has been exploring
the impact of knowledge synthesis and interdisciplinary approaches on contemporary art, attempting
to create new artistic languages using interdisciplinary methods. For this reason, his work is diverse
in style, spanning fields such as film, drama, multimedia, installation, and painting. His work has been
collected by important art institutions such as the Chinese Art Museum, the White Rabbit Gallery in
Australia, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, and the Pompidou Art Center in France.

王怀庆（b.1944） 1944年生于北京，1964年进入中央工艺美术学院就读，1971年起被指派至中国人民解放军部队担任舞台
Wang Huaiqing 美术设计工作。1979年考取中央工艺美术学院研究所，受业于倡导西方现代主义的吴冠中门下。1985年因
参加在黄山举行的全国油画研讨会，途经浙江绍兴，拜访鲁迅故居，深深对江南水乡的古文化氛围、留存

下来的老屋建筑与古家具的纹路和结构所感动，自此其绘画色彩渐简化为黑白色系，对空间对象的具象表
现转向平面建构，开启他探索与观察对象结构再重组的视觉语汇，奠定其后来至今30年形塑个人独特创作
风格变化的起始点。王怀庆的作品频频于中国及国际重要大展中获奖，极获重视。2021年于中国清华大学
艺术博物馆举办纵横—王怀庆艺术展。2016年参加《中华意蕴—中国油画艺术国际巡展》，于法国巴
黎布罗尼亚宫、意大利罗马维托里亚诺纪念堂展出；同年参加《中国写意—来自中国美术馆的艺术》，
于墨西哥城的圣伊德方索学院美术馆展出。于2015至2019年参加香港巴塞尔艺术博览会，2015年于日本
兵库县立美术馆展出大型回顾展出山。2012年台北美术馆展出「一生万：王怀庆艺术展」，2010年苏州博
物馆展出「走进故园—王怀庆艺术展」，同年于美国西雅图艺术博物馆展出「走出故园—王怀庆艺术
展」。2002、2006、2007年参加瑞士巴塞尔艺术博览会。1998年参加纽约古根汉美术馆「中国艺术 5000年
展」，以及纽约军械库亚洲艺术博览会。
