Born in Chengdu in May 1948, a representative of Chinese contemporary lyrical realism oil
painting painter. graduated from the art class of Chengdu Teachers' College in 1973, entered
the oil painting program of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 1977, and entered Sichuan Fine Arts
Institute in 1979.
After graduating in 1982, he engaged in oil painting at the Chengdu Painting Institute in
Sichuan Province and now lives in Chengdu. 1985, he was invited by the Massachusetts College
of Art to lecture in the United States. In the early 1980s, he caused a sensation with his oil
paintings "Spring has awakened" and "Youth" and the comic strip "Snow Geese", and became a
spokesman painter shaping the image of a nation and a collective. In 1992, his work "Now and
Then" overturned his usual rule of focal perspective and used the double space treatment for
the first time, and the style of his works became closer to the classical Chinese painting style.
He Duo-ling's art is poetic, painterly, beautiful, elegant and sentimental, and he pursues
unrestrained freedom. His artistic stylistic skills are solid and comprehensive, and his
brushstrokes are full of vitality in the figures and scenes. The simplicity of his formal language
is similar to that of traditional Chinese ink painting, which is meticulous in its refinement and
complex in its simplicity, showing a transcendent spiritual realm and a deep artistic pursuit.
He is currently a member of the China Artists Association, a director of the China Oil Painting
Society, a full-time oil painter of the Chengdu Painting Institute, a national-level artist, and the
director of the Art Committee of the Chengdu Painting Institute. As a representative of "scar
art", he became a sensation in the early 1980s with his works such as "The Spring Breeze Has
Awakened", "Youth", the comic strip "Snow Geese", "Chasing the Poor" and "We Used to Sing
This Song". The oil painting "Youth" won the bronze medal in the 6th National Art Exhibition,
and also won the bronze medal in the 7th National Art Exhibition and the Monaco Government
Prize. Snow Geese" won the second honorable mention in the third national comic strip award
for painting.
In the contemporary Chinese painting world, He Duoling is a remarkable figure. Since the
launch of his oil painting "Spring Breeze Has Awakened" in 1982, he has continued to produce
new works, his painting style has quietly changed, and his forms and language are gradually
being refined, but his face as a painter is distinct, and the image he gives is integral. He is
considered to be a realist painter with outstanding talent.

刘炜（b.1965） 1965年生于北京。1989年毕业于中央美术学院版画系。现生活、创作于北京。刘炜是第一批在北京宋庄扎
LIU WEI 根的艺术家之一，通过1989年的“中国现代艺术展”逐渐为西方所熟识。二十世纪八十年代，中国逐渐兴
起的前卫艺术启发了刘炜，画面常常出现军人等代表某种价值系统的符号。他凭借《革命家庭》系列里诡

异荒诞的士兵画，迅速跻身玩世现实主义运动的重要成员，这些早期作品融会了从中国书法到表现主义等
古今中外的风格，锤炼出如艺评家栗宪庭所说的“歪瓜裂枣”形象。九十年代初，《革命家庭》系列在威
尼斯双年展和圣保罗双年展上获国际好评，刘炜成为首批获得全球认可的中国当代艺术家之一。
到了九十年代中至末期，刘炜喜欢调侃身边亲友，为他玩世不恭的作品取材。他们狼狈的生存状态与时代
脱节，社会关系荒诞不懂分寸、人欲与情境无法调节，全沦为刘炜调侃的对象。但刘炜对性欲与肉体的描
述逐渐发展成一种别于同辈的躯体观，打破了礼俗对身体的禁忌，推翻了学术界传统造型中所捍卫的西洋
肢体观念。刘炜笔下的人体开始出现虚化、溃烂。这种溃烂不是外在侵犯的伤害引致，而是源自内心深处
