                                       Born in 1948 in Chongqing, Bishan County, Chongqing, he studied at the Sichuan Fine Arts
                                       Institute from 1977 to 1981 and stayed on as a teacher after graduation. 1984, he was promoted
                                       to associate professor and went to Belgium to study at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in the
                                       same year, returning to school in March 1986.
                                       In 1993, he was promoted to professor. Now he is the president of Sichuan Academy of Fine
                                       Arts, the president of China Contemporary Art Institute, the representative of National People's
                                       Congress, the expert who enjoys the national government allowance, the executive director of
                                       China Artists Association, the executive director of China Oil Painting Association, the chairman
                                       of Chongqing Artists Association.
                                       He was awarded the Gold Medal of the Second China Youth Art Exhibition and the Sichuan
                                       Outstanding Works Award. His works are collected in the National Art Museum of China, the
                                       National History Museum of Belgium, and the Taiwan Mountain Art Museum. He has published
                                       books such as "Luo Zhongli Oil Painting Collection" and "Selected Oil Paintings of Luo Zhongli".
                                       In 1992, he established the Luo Zhongli Oil Painting Scholarship to encourage outstanding
                                       graduates from art colleges and universities throughout China.
                                       His works are widely collected by the National Art Museum of China, the Shanghai Art Museum,
                                       the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Harvard University, the Oklahoma State Museum
                                       of Art, the Singapore Art Museum, the National Museum of History of Belgium, and other art
                                       institutions and private individuals at home and abroad.
