Born in 1958 in Changchun, Jilin Province, Zhang Miqian graduated from Jilin Academy of
Arts in 1986. He joined the China Artists Association in 1987 and the Chinese Printmakers
Association in 1985. He is currently a professor and master's supervisor at Capital Normal
University and the former dean of the School of Fine Arts at Jilin Academy of Arts. He now
resides in Beijing and is skilled in oil painting, Chinese painting, printmaking, and calligraphy.
Zhang had a serious illness around 2002, which prompted him to rethink the essence and
meaning of life. Inspired by the notion that true poetry is only found among the people, he
abandoned the academic style and turned to contemporary perspectives. He then introduced
contemporary art into the academy and reformed the teaching system of the School of Fine
Arts at Jilin Academy of Arts. His actions broke traditional boundaries and paved the way
for the popularization of contemporary art in university education. Despite the widespread
attention his reforms received, he ultimately chose to resign from his position as dean, moving
to Beijing and establishing his studio in Songzhuang. He believes that the value of life lies not
in fame or fortune, but in the freedom to create, a belief that has led him to the realm of artistic
freedom. Zhang Miqian created the Scalpel calligraphy font in 2011, the unique calligraphy
and mounting form of Clever Plan in 2013, and the unique composition and mounting form of

张新军（b.1983） 目前工作生活与北京，本科毕业于四川美术学院，后于中央美术学院学习并获得硕士学位。张新军运用多

Zhang Xinjun lives and works in Beijing. He received his undergraduate degree from the
Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and his master's degree from the Central Academy of Fine
Arts. Zhang Xijun uses a variety of media to refine abstract forms condensed between his
own memories and personal emotions. Through the intervention of the artist's body and
the connection with materials that are within the reach of everyday life, he uses a series
of intensive or primitive labour to repair and transform the contradictory moments of the
