Zhao Yang was born in Siping, Jilin, China, in 1970; he currently lives and works in Beijing. He
graduated from the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou, China, in 1995. Zhao Yang's work is
influenced by his academic background in traditional Chinese painting, particularly one of its
central tenets regarding the unpredictable flow of ink in water. He applies these traditional
principles to figurative paintings, eschewing overt narrative, instead enfranchising the
hermeneutical subjectivity of the viewer. Behind Zhao's paintings, however, lies his imagination
regarding the cessation of modern industrial civilization and a return to what he calls paradise
lost.
His recent solo exhibitions include Zhao Yang: Roma is a Lake, ShanghART Beijing (2019);

Born in Taipei, Taiwan. Currently lives and works in Taipei, Taiwan Cheng graduated from
Taipei World News Vocational School. Beginning in 1980, he held solo exhibitions and joint
exhibitions both locally and abroad, including at the American Cultural Center, Taipei Museum
of Fine Art, the Museum of History and so on. In 1991, Cheng joined the Individual Movement
group exhibition sponsored by the Hong Kong Arts Centre. In 1992, he was awarded the
Xiongshi Artistic Creation Award. In 2001 Towards a New Image: Twenty Years of Contemporary
Chinese Painting, National Art Museum, Beijing; Shanghai Art Museum, Shanghai; Sichuan
Art Museum; Guangdong Art Museum, Guangzhou, China Passion for the Good Old Days,

郑子燕（b.1951）
1951年生于杭州，现于北京生活及工作，无名画会成员，1988年毕业于中央艺术学院。1971年从父（版
ZHENG ZIYAN
画家郑野夫）习画。父亲去世后随李桦习画。1973年后与张伟、李珊、马可鲁、史习习、王爱和、韦
51 海、刘是、田淑英等艺术家一同加入到无名画会，形成了人们称之为玉渊潭画派的绘画群体，这个群体
所创作的作品是对当时那个时代北京精神的理解，在那些看似无主题的风景和静物中，他们把对真、
善、美的真诚理解纳入其中。1975年参加北京福绥境大楼三楼五号张伟家的十一人地下画展。1979年参
加北京北海画舫斋无名画会第一届公开画展，此次展览代表着中国艺术家个体意识的觉醒，以及艺术家
对艺术本体的构建意识。1981年参加北京北海画舫斋无名画会第二届公开画展。她的作品被M＋纳为馆
藏。群展：2017年，沙龙沙龙：1972－1982年以北京为视角的现代美术实践侧影，中间美术馆，北京；
2006年-2007年，无名画会其他成员作品展，TRA画廊/ Y.Q.K德山文化艺术空间，北京/广东美术馆，广州/
