ARTIST BIOGRAPHIES 艺术家简历

Born in Taipei. In the past thirty years of his creative career, "light" has been the main subject
of Huang MingChun's research. Huang MingChun found that the colour theories of the past
could no longer satisfy his pursuit of light and shadow expression. Impressionism focused
too much on light and shadow and neglected the contours of form, resulting in a "trade-
off" between light and shadow and form, which became the subject of his breakthrough. In
Minjoon Hwang's colour theory based on the principle of light, blue is mainly the result of light
attenuation. Therefore, he further adjusts and unifies the three primary colours of light and
the three primary colours of pigment into the new three primary colours of light (magenta,
yellow and emerald green), the so-called "Light and Colour Unity", and provides examples
and contemporary colour theories as supporting evidence, in order to narrow the gap between
painting and reality, and to make the painting more realistic and three-dimensional, which
is impossible to be achieved by traditional painting. Solo Exhibitions: 2022 "Genealogy and

his paintings, his imagined worlds are often clinical in their spatial abstractions, the narratives
taking place in what seems like hospital rooms or unfurnished houses. Uponfurther inspection,
the viewer might find a strange detail – a human head or a half-hidden pool of blood – that
interrupts these sanitary atmospheres.Huang Yishan selected solo exhibitions include:
