             周廷旭(1903-1972)            生于厦门,1921年留学美国,就读于波士顿美术馆学校,1923年往法国巴黎美院进修,之后又进英国皇家

                                       Zhou Tingxu was born in Xiamen, Fujian province on April 27, 1903. Zhou was exposed to
                                       Western art and culture at an early age and left for the United States in 1920. The following
                                       year he joined the School of Art at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. In 1923, he studied at the
                                       Ecole de Beaux Arts in France and later moved to England and enrolled at the Royal Academy
                                       of Arts. He was the only student to win all the prizes and scholarships in every competition
                                       he entered. He was also the first foreigner to be elected as an associate member of the Royal
                                       Society of British Artists. Since 1925, he subsequently won the Royal Academy scholarship, the
                                       Landseer Scholarship, the Creswick Prize and several other awards. In 1929 he became the
                                       only foreign artist ever to be awarded the Royal Academy Turner Prize. After travelling around
                                       in Europe and China he eventually settled in the United States in 1938.

                                       Born in 1966 in Beijing, Zhu Wei is a contemporary artist and an explorer of Chinese
                                       contemporary ink art. His ink paintings began to show up in large international exhibitions in
                                       1993, and have since been featured in over 300 shows worldwide. More than thirty different
                                       albums of his paintings and retrospectives of his artworks have been published. 45 domestic
                                       and foreign museums have added more than 70 artworks to their collections. He devotes
                                       himself to contemporizing Chinese ink and colour on paper and making it become an important
                                       integral of world contemporary art.
