             Zhou Jinhua

Born in 1978 in Deyang, Sichuan Province, Zhou graduated from Sichuan Academy of Fine
Arts in 2002. His upbringing and experiences have deeply influenced and shaped the direction
and language of his artistic creation. The ordinary people and the society in which they exist
is a subject Jinhua has always focused on and is passionate about, and he is fascinated by
capturing all the colours and forms of society in his creations. Through his characteristic
overhead perspective, Zhou uses his images to create miniature societies one after another,
each telling a different story, some real, some fictional, and some surreal, yet the emotions
contained in each piece of work are incredibly sincere and genuine. In his creations, Jinhua
tries to reveal and express the duality of fragility and resilience in human nature, with the
intention of exploring the relationship between the individual and the collective, as well as the
persistent topic of individual will and destiny in his creations. Solo exhibitions: 2020 “Jinhua
