                                                                  Born in Seoul, Korea in 1980, Eddie Kang has been inspired
       ˜ί΢၇ఙΥ༁dҢᙂ੻ҢԒᗙٙɛ఻˷ே݊֘ዹٙfҢซл͜Ңٙဤeᖭ೥ഃЪ                       and nurtured by art since he was a child and often visited art
        ۜԸڌ༺வԬೌجҜաٙ֘ዹชnҢ͜അe෩ࣘձذ೥ಏڌ༺ତʦٟึɛʆɛ                        museums with his mother, who loved to paint. After graduating
        ऎٙᄳ๫f ™                                                   from secondary school, he attended the animation program
                                              {{۴፼བ€Eddie Kang   at the Rhode Island School of Design in the United States.
                                                                  After completing his education, he started his new career as
        ۴፼བ 1980 ϋ͛׵ᒵ਷࠯ဧdІʃ຾੬ᎇᆠฌᖭ೥͎ٙፋЇߕஔ᎜޶࢝dऍᆗ׵                   an independent artist. Cartoon-inspired, but not limited to flat
        ᖵஔ઼ٙࠔၾᔠௗf৷ʕଭุܝd˼ࠌߕ਷ഹΤٙᖯᅃࢥணࠇኪ৫ਗဘӻආࡌfଭ                      surfaces, he frequently incorporates multi-media figures and

        Չ̷ܠf                                                      The experience of moving around in a busy metropolis has made it

        Ъɪd˼Җ෧̈஢ε੭Ϟਗဘࠬࣸٙ˴ԉdၾՉɓΝ࿁Ҥவ၇֘ዹd׵݊dʃဤ                       the dog, and Bubbles the pink bear. In 2018, Eddie Kang was
        Karmaeʃَ Lovelesse४Ѝʃဤظظഃ˴ԉᏐ༶Ͼ͛fՉࡡۨԸІᖵஔ࢕ഁϋࣛ               invited to be the global featured artist for the renowned fashion
        ಂٙ෩ኃdԨ༧ᎇ˼ίॲߒe࠰ಥe࠯ဧe؇ԯഃήᑘ፬ࡈ࢝f2018 ϋd۴፼བ                    brand MCM, where he introduces his characters to the fashion
                                                                  world and become a critical darling. For this autumn sale, we
        աᒗމഹΤࣛ֠ۜ೐ MCM ٙΌଢतߒᖵஔ࢕d˼ਗ਼Չഅɨٙɛي੭ɝࣛ֠ޢdϓ                    present Karma I, completed in 2010. It is the third largest painting
        މᄿաλ൙ٙᖑಛf݊ϣ߇שdҢࡁяତҁϓ׵ 2010 ϋٙҢːʕٙဤ I‘dϤމ                 by the artist to date at the auction venue, and its combination of
        ᖵஔ࢕ԙʦ׵שఙהତୋɧɽˉషٙ೥ЪdፄΥՉ΢ό຾ՊႧคdᗭঐ̙൮f                        classic vocabulary is invaluable.
        ල̹ͣ۬ʕٙ੹Ѝኹ׬                                                A Colourful Embrace in a Black and White City
                                                                  In the background of Karma I, Eddie Kang uses dense black lines

        ੗ʔீࠬή෬တə೥̺d྅݊ɓࡈ৖ˌٙලͣဉಶf̴ࡁٙ଻ग़ဋ್dԒɪཁб୑                      a psychedelic black-and-white vortex. With their hollow eyes
        ୚ʔɓٙ੗ණᇞૢd߰భจ፻ഊ˥إଡ଼ᔌϓ̹ٙ۬ၣഖdᖵஔ࢕ᔟϤڌ༺ə̹۬ኹ                      and dense lines of varying thicknesses, they symbolize the

                                                                  mechanized cities are a defining characteristic of Eddie Kang’s

        LovelesseߎЍٙႭࣣɛഃɓ଺λྫМேФ̈əᕐ˓dཬͤήບഹɽ଻༯ίՉԒ                   grins, and displays its playful canines as if to give the viewer a warm
                                                                  embrace. Even though it has just mended its pink wounds, it exudes
