日本藝術家。畢業於東京藝術大學繪畫學科，
1995 年在威尼斯雙年展上獲頒發特別榮譽獎，
令他成為亞洲區首位獲此殊榮的藝術家。他是
現今少數採用岩彩畫風格來創作的大師，以其
壯觀宏偉的大型瀑布及山崖作品而聞名。他將
簡約的抽象表現主義與日本特有的傳統繪畫技
法融合於作品中。2017 年，他獲日本外務省授
予外務大臣表彰，表揚其作品對日本藝術的重
要貢獻。
Japanese artist. Graduated from Tokyo University
of the Arts. Awarded the Special Honor Award at
the Venice Biennale in 1995, making him the first
artist from Asia to receive the award. He is one of
the few masters to use the mineral-color painting
style and is famous for his magnificent large-scale
waterfall and cliff paintings. His works combine
minimalist abstract expressionism with traditional
Japanese painting techniques. In 2017, he was
honored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan
for his important contribution to Japanese art.
